In the first new construction on the I-195 land, Waldorf Capital Management is moving forward on a major residential project on Parcel 30. The 6-story complex with offer some 85 apartment units with enclosed parking for 60 cars. A fitness center, retail spaces and a "skybridge" to the developers' project next door at 95 Chestnut are among the features shown in the concepts from Northeast Collaborative Architects.
The developers will present their plans at a regular session of the Downtown Design Review Committee, on Monday, November 7 at 4:45 in the 1st Floor Conference Room at the Doorley Municipal Building, 444 Westminster Street. Public comment can be made at the meeting.
The project is a milestone for the city in the drive to reclaim the old Interstate route, but it's a major step forward in realizing a mixed use future for the Jewelry District. For an advance look at the project go to Chestnut Commons Paracel 30 on our Major Project page.
