So now, the Victory Place proposal is on the table. How large the table is, who is really campaigning for it and is the property really available? Only time will tell; certainly no one is saying much right now, as you can read in Kate Bramson's article in today's Providence Journal which leads off with:
"Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza said Wednesday he and his administration are talking with the PawSox and "coordinating" with state leaders regarding what type of package the city and state might offer the Triple-A baseball team as it seeks a new home."
"Elorza said he has spoken with Governor Raimondo and House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello, and he's encouraging the PawSox to look at the vacant Victory Place site in the Jewelry District. PawSox managing partner Larry Lucchino told him 'it might work,' the mayor said."
