It will be years before these saplings mature into mighty oaks or some other species.
But whatever they are, it's nice to see them.
Local dogs may be delighted, to discover them, too, for the destruction zone has been rather thin on
the supply of enticing vertical objects. There is hope: shiny new fireplugs are making an appearance on
the newly restored sections of Friendship and Clifford Streets.
That aside, it's nice to think that the dirt piles, stacks of electrical conduit, water pipe and great concrete
manholes and sewer pipes will be replaced with lanes of trees.
One can only dream.
